Mobile phone carrier AT&T is reportedly gearing up for the release of the long-awaited NoDo software update for its Windows Phone users as soon as next week, on April 19th. Apparently, the wireless carrier is set to make NoDo available for download for at least two of its Windows Phone handsets, namely the LG Quantum and the Samsung Focus.

The NoDo software update was already sent out to Windows Phone users around the world, but AT&T remained a little behind with its release.

However, it appears that the carrier has finally managed to complete the testing phase for the new software, and that it is getting ready to push it out to users in a few days.

Microsoft already updated its support site to reflect that fact that LG Quantum and Samsung Focus are nearing the day when they would taste NoDo, and AT&T reportedly announced the move through an internal email.

As soon as the new software is ready, users would receive a notification, and they would be able to connect their phones to a computer and update them through the Zune software.

More precisely, there would be two different updates that users would need to download and install on their devices, one tagged 7008, the pre-NoDo update, which prepares the device for NoDo, and the actual Copy&paste updated, tagged 7390.

“The Headliner for the 7390 (NoDo) MR is that it adds Copy/Paste functionality but additional functionality is included that is unique to AT&T,” the said email reads.

One thing that should be noted here is that HTC Surround users won't receive the software update for a few weeks more, at least this is what recent reports suggest. They would have to wait until middle of May before receiving the new software.

“Approved updates for the HTC Surround are scheduled for availability in mid-May and will be communicated once approved,” AT&T reportedly announced via the said internal message.
