Those US users who are currently considering the purchase of a new iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless' airwaves should think twice before making the move, as the carrier's network sports some limitations that would cripple the overall experience, AT&T says.

To be more precise, the wireless services provider touts its network as being capable to offer simultaneous voice and data calls, something that Verizon's airwaves won't provide.

“Only AT&T's network lets you talk and surf the web at the same time on your iPhone,” an email the wireless carrier sent to its customers reads (via TechCrunch).

In other words, AT&T is starting to react to the fact that it lost the exclusivity on this device, and is also trying to prevent a large amount of customers to migrate to Big Red's network, something that previous forecasts suggested that might happen.

Since many customers complained about dropped calls on AT&T's network, along with slow speeds at some times, the carrier's attempt will not make them change their minds that's for sure, provided they are set to switch to Big Red.

However, the CDMA standard implemented by Verizon does not offer support for both data and voice simultaneously, and those iPhone users who might have enjoyed the feature before would certainly miss it.

In addition to making this assertion, the aforementioned email from AT&T also included a 25% off coupon for any mobile accessory at the local AT&T store, though this might not be as impressive as the carrier might have hoped for it to be.

Undoubtedly, AT&T will make further attempts to convince users that switching to the CDMA network is not a good idea, especially now that the availability of the iPhone 4 at Verizon is only one week away.

Existing Verizon customers would be able to order the iPhone 4 in advance starting with February 3rd, while general availability would kick off on February 10th, just as the wireless carrier announced before.
