Mobile phone carrier AT&T has just announced the release of their first tablet PC to run under Google's Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system, namely the HTC Jetstream, none other than the HTC Puccini tablet that was long rumored to be on its way to the market this fall.

The new device comes along with a large 10.1” WXGA high-resolution display and with a Snapdragon 1.5 GHz dual core application processor inside.

The HTC Jetstream also sports 4G LTE/HSPA+ connectivity capabilities, as well as an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for HD video recording.

The tablet PC also offers support for a great web browsing experience with support for Adobe Flash Player, as well as great entertainment features.

It also offers support for the HTC Scribe technology, offering users the possibility to purchase an optional digital pen accessory, as well as Evernote integration.

At the same time, the new device comes with support for a wide range of other services, including AT&T Family Map, AT&T Navigator, HTC Watch, HTC Hub, Friendstream, Android Market, and others more.

“This tablet is a beautiful 10.1-inch, LTE powered masterpiece,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

“When you combine powerful options like HTC Jetstream with our upcoming LTE technology and nationwide HSPA+ network, it flies.”

The specifications list of the new device also includes the HTC Sense UX for tablets, along with a front-facing 1.3MP camera, MicroSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, WiFi connectivity, and a 7,300 mAh battery.

Google Maps 5.0 with 3D-like interaction will also be available for the owners of this device, along with Google Talk with video chat over Wi-Fi, Google eBooks, incognito mode for browsing the Internet, and more.

The tablet PC will arrive on the market on September 4th, AT&T announced, adding that it will be priced at $699.99 with the signing of a new two-year contract. The carrier also announced the availability of a new $35, 3 GB monthly data plan option for its customers.

“HTC Jetstream combines the acclaimed HTC Sense experience with Android Honeycomb to provide an innovative and engaging experience on a 10.1 inch tablet,” said Martin Fichter, acting president, HTC Americas Region.

“Paired with AT&T’s upcoming 4G LTE speed and mobility, HTC Jetstream delivers connectivity for social and entertainment needs alongside productivity and creativity tools in a portable package.”
