Last week, AT&T has made a change to its upgrade policy, expanding it to two-years, thus mirroring the move that Verizon Wireless announced not long ago.

Previously, the wireless carrier provided users with the possibility to upgrade to a newer device after 20 months of contract, but this has changed last week.

“Today, we’re announcing a 24-month upgrade policy across all of AT&T’s wireless products and services. This aligns device upgrade eligibility with our standard two-year wireless agreement and it applies to any customer whose agreement expires in March 2014 or later,” AT&T announced in a recent post on its blog.

However, the carrier also announced that users will qualify for partial discounts off the full retail price of devices after the first six months of the contract agreement, and only when signing a new two-year wireless agreement.
