ARCHOS has just announced the upcoming availability of new G9 Android tablets, set to be put on pre-order no later than September 20th, 2011, with Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system on board. ARCHOS's G9 tablet packs an 8-inch touchscreen display, and is powered by a dual-core application processor with each core clocked in at 1GHz (an OMAP 4 processor with an ARM Cortex dual-core A9), and features a price tag of $299.

Moreover, the company will put the ARCHOS G9 'Turbo' tablet PC on shelves on September 20th with a price tag of $400 attached to it, and with an OMAP 4 dual-core processor that runs at up to 1.5 GHz, which can deliver up to 50% more raw power when compared to 1GHz rival devices.

The new ARCHOS G9 tablets also come to the market with 250GB hard drive storage capacities, in addition to the flash storage options. The 250GB G9 will be able to offer fast performance capabilities, courtesy of an intelligent caching system.

“Wanting to give users the best of both worlds, ARCHOS paired the Seagate Momentus Thin hard drive with a dedicated 4GB flash caching system,” the company announced.

“This ARCHOS engineered hybrid solution offered on all ARCHOS G9 hard drive tablets is designed to limit spinning and to keep the drive powered down when not in use, which will protect it when on the go as well as preserve battery life.”

The ARCHOS 80 G9 tablet with the aforementioned 1 GHz dual-core processor will become available for pre-order on September 20th on the company's website at $299.

On September 30th, it will become available for purchase via retailers like HH Gregg, Amazon, Newegg, Tiger Direct, Brandsmart and Electronic Express.

The ARCHOS G9 tablets with 1.5 GHz CPUs will arrive on shelves in October, featuring the following recommended retail price:
