We’ve got used to see AMD as an independent and traditional American company for such a long time that a buyout seems like something out of this world. The thing is that corporatism is taking over capitalism and if you look for the other synonym to capitalism, things might not seem so rosy.

A buyout will mean yet another round of the already restructured AMD, but let’s not get knee deep into the rumors.

We believe Qualcomm doesn’t really have any interest in AMD and neither would Samsung.

Some analysts, on the other hand, started the rumor of a possible acquisition and the company’s shares jumped almost 10% in the past few days.

Both, Samsung and Qualcomm and possibly AMD might have an interest in MIPS Technologies and that company is really put up for sale, but that’s another story altogether.
