The current AMD roadmap does not go more than one year into the future

Last week, I wrote about the likelihood of Advanced Micro Devices dropping the FX brand by 2015, just in time for Carizo to show up. A new report says that won't happen though.

The people at Gamers Nexus say they got some information straight from the company, specifically AMD Manager of APU/CPU Product Reviews James Prior.

He said that the slide on which the rumor was based was one he had never seen, which, by extension, means it doesn't exist.

And if it doesn't exist, the implication that AMD FX CPUs will reach the end of their life in 2014 is also false.

So you can all rest assured that high-end FX central processing units of 4 to 8 cores will keep arriving.

Either that or AMD will just switch the FX brand from the high-end front to a lower end of the market, maybe the upper mainstream, since Intel has been dominating the top tier for years now.
