Actor Charlie Sheen, star of the popular sitcom “Two and a Half Men,” was arrested on Christmas morning after his wife called 911 on allegations of domestic abuse. The star was taken into custody, charged and then released on bail, with the next court hearing scheduled for February. The 911 call that Mueller made on the night of the incident has been released, People says, and it confirms that Sheen had threatened her with a star.

Reports in the media claim that both Sheen and Mueller were intoxicated at the time of the altercation and the subsequent arrest. However, the incident was more serious than initially believed, with the recording of the call placed with the police confirming that, indeed, the star had used some sort of weapon on his wife, presumably when she threatened to divorce him and take custody of the kids.

“In the recording, a shaky and tearful Mueller says, ‘My husband had me with a knife. I was scared for my life and he threatened me.’ Sheen, 44, and Mueller, 32, had been arguing at a friend’s house the night before ‘and it continued into the next morning,’ says a source close to Mueller. ‘I have people here,’ Mueller says on the 911 call. ‘My family is here, but if I don’t file this right now… he’s in the other room. He is with somebody but he’s trying to leave’,” People magazine writes of the 911 recording.

“When the 911 operator asks for her name, Mueller says, ‘Brooke’ quietly. When asked her husband’s name she pauses then says, ‘It’s Charlie Sheen,’ and begins to cry. Mueller describes the knife as a ‘switchblade’,” the mag goes on to say. Throughout the entire call, she says nothing of whether she had sustained any injuries, but she seems genuinely afraid that either her husband would come into the room she’s calling from or leave the house.

According to various reports in the press, Sheen has been charged with a class-four felony charge of second-degree assault, a class-five felony charge of menacing, and a misdemeanor count of “criminal mischief,” as we also told you the other day. He’s been set free on a $8,500 bail and he and Mueller are said to have plans to see a marriage counselor to work out their issues.
