During the Dell Tech Camp Europe event that usually takes place in London every year, the electronics manufacturer showcased some of its tablet concepts that may or may not go out of the labs this year.

The event is invite only for customers, press and analysts from Europe, Middle East and Africa (sorry U.S. journalists).

Among the devices that have been showcased at the event, there's an interesting 7-inch tablet that is based on Dell Inspiron Duo design, but improved.

The 7-inch tablet features a slide-out keyboard that is split in two and has a generous touch pad in the middle.

As Michael Smith, one of the leading designers for Dell's Industrial Design department, suggested, though the concept is three or four years old, the company needed a device that would attract young persons that like to chat or play games very often.

According to Smith, Dell is working on multiple concept tablets, including one with removable screen like the Asus Transformer, but currently only the prototype with the sliding keyboard is being developed and has a high chance of being launched on the market.

While Dell is not yet sure of what operating system it will provide to the hybrid tablet, Smith said that the company has high expectations for Windows 8.

Even though this might be more than a hint, it is too early to assume that the 7-inch tablet will carry Windows 8 platform, especially that there are so many dual-booting tablets out there that can operate two operating systems.

On related news, the company is in the process of launching its 10-inch Dell Streak Pro tablet globally. Currently, the 10-inch tablet is about to make its official debut in China, but Dell stated that it would be released in Europe and US by the end of the year.
