On August 14, when Pakistan celebrated its Independence Day, Pakistani hacker Dr@cul@ defaced around 6,000 Indian websites.

The hacker has published a list of close to 6,400 URLs pointing to his defacement pages, but some of them lead to subdomains of the same website.

“Leave our Kashmir otherwise we will tell u in our way more in deface page,” the hacker stated.

Most of the websites appear to belong to commercial entities, but as HackRead highlights, at least one Indian government site has been impacted: cgihk.gov.in.

cgihk.gov.in is the official website of the Consulate General of India, Hong Kong.

At the time of writing, the defacement page has been removed from all the websites.

On August 14, Pakistani hackers defaced several other websites from India, including the one of the Pune Traffic Police, and the personal site of Indian Minister Rajesh Tope.
