Respawn Entertainment, the video game developer that was created by former Infinity Ward leaders Jason West and Vince Zampella, has posted new information on its website showing that no less than 40 of its current staff have been engaged in the creation of hit title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

At the moment, Respawn is employing 53 people, which means that most of the core team is made up of Call of Duty veterans, with a fair number of them having also worked on other games in the well-known series.

Zampella and West were forced out of Infinity Ward and have sued former employers Activision, saying that they have not received significant bonuses linked to the sales performance of Modern Warfare 2.

The pair are aiming to get 36 million dollars in compensation.

The publisher has also sued them for breach of contract, alleging that they were talking to Electronic Arts before they were fired and that they planned to take control of the Modern Warfare name.

The two parties will go to trial later in the year.

The two studio heads announced in April 2010 that they were now creating Respawn Entertainment and that they would be signing a publishing agreement with Electronic Arts.

Later during the year, a number of the important developers working at Infinity Ward left the company and moved to the new developer.

Respawn Entertainment has not revealed what kind of game it is currently working on and the two leading developers have repeatedly said that they are at the moment focused on gathering a great team and that official announcements are not their main priority now.

A restaffed Infinity Ward is currently working hard on the development of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the new game in the long-running franchise, which is set to be launched during the fall of this year.
