Global leader in 3G mobile broadband, 3 Group has announced the introduction of a new pricing policy, '3 Like Home'. As the name suggests, while traveling abroad, 3 customers will be able to use other 3 group networks and talk for pretty much the same price as they would back home. They will be able to make and receive calls while being charged as if they were still using their home network. SMS, MMS, video calling and data services will also be charged the same as while at home.

"While 3 customers will continue to face higher charges if they roam onto a non-3 network, this is because of the high wholesale charges required by many of 3's roaming partners. We hope the European Commission will be successful in significantly reducing these wholesale charges, which will allow price reductions for customers roaming between different operators within Europe", said Christian Salbaing, 3 Group's Managing Director of European Telecommunications.

"The launch of the '3 Like Home' scheme will significantly benefit our customers as they travel between the 3 Group's networks. It underlines our commitment to fair treatment and reasonable pricing for all our customers."

By giving customers fair and transparent treatment as well as reasonable pricing while they are traveling abroad, 3 Group will attract more customers as well as support the European Commission's campaign to reduce the cost of mobile calls when roaming in Europe.

The '3 Like Home' service will be introduced progressively for 3 customers in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Sweden and UK and pricing details will become available after the service is launched in each of the countries mentioned before.
