The virtual doors for the 7th annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards are now open and students from over 30 countries are welcomed. The Adobe Design Achievement Awards celebrate student achievement reflecting the powerful convergence of technology and the creative arts, as Adobe puts it. The competition's purpose is to honor the most talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, and computer artists that are enrolled in visual arts programs.

Only students enrolled in visual arts programs at accredited institutions of higher education can joint the competition and they will need to know their way around the Adobe software as all of the projects must be not only original, but created with Adobe software. The big difference this year, is that - among the software used in the process of creation until now at every ADAA - now Macromedia software gets included too.

Also, those that are interested, have to upload their entries to the competition website until April 27, 2007. The categories in which the projects may enter are as follows: Animation, Digital Illustration, Digital Photography, Environmental Graphics and Packaging, Interactive and Web Design, Live Action, Motion Graphics, Print Design Multi-Page, and Print Design Single Page, and - of course - it would not be a competition without prizes.

First place individual winners will receive $5000, a total of seven Adobe or Macromedia software products of their choice and more. Firs place group members will have to split among them $5000, Adobe Creative Suite? 2 Premium, Macromedia? Studio 8, or Adobe Production Studio Premium software for each designated team member; and more. Every other finalist will receive airfare and hotel accommodations in San Francisco, software and more.
