Indian company Karbonn is well-known among Android enthusiasts for its affordable smartphones and tablets. Karbonn launched a wide range of devices in the past few years, which successfully compete with other major brands.
After trying their hands on 7-inch tablets, Karbonn is now releasing a 10-inch slate that is a much cheaper alternative to Apple’s iPad.
The comparison with Apple’s iPad is inevitable due to the fact that it comes with a 9.7-inch capacitive touch display.
Obviously, its display is inferior to iPad’s but those who cannot afford an Apple tablet may want to give the Cosmic Smart Tab 10 a try.
Indian retailer Saholic is now selling the Indian tablet for only Rs 10,280 outright, which is about $185 or €140. Check it out here.
Aside from the low price, it’s also worth mentioning that the Karbonn Cosmic Smart Tab 10 ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.
That puts it among the few tablets launched by Indian handset makers which are powered by Google’s Jelly Bean platform.
Although the tablet does not come with 3G, Cosmic Smart Tab 10 features 3G support via dongle, so customers will be able to benefit from faster download speeds with a minimum investment.
Furthermore, Karbonn Cosmic Smart Tab 10 packs a powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core A9 processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM.
The tablet’s 9.7-inch display supports 1024 x 768 pixels resolution, while the microSD card slot allows users to expand storage up to 32GB.
It also comes with dual cameras (2-megapixel rear photo snapper and secondary VGA front-facing camera), as well as various connectivity features, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI and microUSB.
Karbonn Cosmic Smart Tab 10 is powered by a high-capacity 6000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
