BioWare, the developer of the upcoming Dragon Age 2 role-playing game, has announced that it will be unlocking two items that can be used by anyone in the full version of the game as long as the demo version, which is launched on February 22, will be downloaded and played more than 1 million times.

These are the two items that can be unlocked:

The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall – this is a book filled with poems written by a refugee from Ferelden as she ran from the destruction of the Blight, speaking about the way a new life can be started in far away lands; in a weird twist BioWare says that it will give the player a money bonus when read.

Lothering’s Lament - another book written by a refugee which focuses on the sorrow he feels at all the things he was been forced to leave behind to the Blight; it will give players a number of Experience Points.

The official site linked to the demo says, “If we get over 1 million demo downloads and logins on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 combined before March 1, we will unlock two in-game items for the entire community to use in Dragon Age II. Demo download progress will be tracked on this page, so check back often!”

Those players who play through the demo of the game will also get access to Hayder's Razor, a special weapon forged by the dwarves that will increase the combat prowess, the health and the mana for the character who uses it.

BioWare also recently revealed Redemption, a web live action series based on Dragon Age starring Felicia Day.

The full version of Dragon Age 2 has a launch date of March 8 in the United States and fans will be able to play on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
