New phones added to the Phone screen supported models

If you’re trying to mirror the screen of your phone on a Windows 10 device, look no further than Microsoft’s set of apps, as the software giant has recently updated Your Phone to support such functionality.

The original version of this feature only included a handful of models that could mirror their screens on a Windows 10 PC, but starting this week, some new devices are supported as well.

Vishnu Nath, Director of Program Management, Microsoft Mobile Experiences, at Microsoft, revealed on Twitter that in addition to Samsung models, the OnePlus 6T is now officially supported as well.

“Your Phone Windows Insiders we are now rolling out more supported devices for our Phone Remoting feature including Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, Note 8/9 devices as well as OnePlus 6/6t!” he tweeted.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 are also supported since the original release.

Support for more devices on its way

However, what you should know is that this feature only works on Windows 10 devices where the Bluetooth Peripheral role is supported, which means that Surface Go is pretty much the only choice available at this point.

Nath says Microsoft is working on bringing this to more Windows 10 devices, but at this point, no further details can be shared. Nevertheless, supporting more Surface models is the long-term plan, Nath explained.

“Currently it is only PCs that support BT Peripheral role which does include Surface Go.  We are actively working very hard to aggressively expand this on the PC side,” he explained in a follow-up tweet. “It is actually a complicated set of reasons but mostly because Bluetooth implementations are wide and varied and often device specific on Android,” he explained when asked why support is being added based on device model and not on Android version.
