I believe it's safe to say that Panzer Corps is the spiritual successor of Panzer General, the strategy game based on real or fictitious battles from World War II, which was launched back in 1994. The original Panzer Corps sold more than one million units since its release and won multiple awards, which is why Slitherine has decided that to give us a sequel.

While the decision was an easy one to take, this is clearly not an easy task to follow in the footsteps of its spiritual predecessor. Anyway, Panzer Corps 2 is coming quicker than we could have imagined, so shake away the rust and get ready from some World War II action.

The first important news about Panzer Corps 2 is that it's made on the Unreal engine, with a set of close to 500 hyper-detailed 3D models, incredibly detailed terrain, an intuitive UI and smooth animations. How much of this is real, we'll see on March 19 when Panzer Corps 2 lands on PC.

The game features around 1,000 unit types and the single-player campaign will get you through no less than 61 scenarios. Not all of them are historically accurate, but you can definitely see many of these scenarios as an alternative history where you land your panzers on the US East Coast.

The game will include a strong multiplayer aspect, along with random map generator for Skirmish, both single-player and multiplayer. There will be live multiplayer, hotseat and PBEM, as well as co-op and tournaments.

Graphics-wise, for the first time in the history of the series, the game will feature 4K support, because why not. Slitherine also mentions that Panzer Corps 2 will include a flexible alliance configuration for co-op mode, free for all, hundreds of custom camouflages and insignias that can be assigned to any unit, along with dozens of map skins for different locations, seasons and weather.
