Blizzard delayed the expansion for just one month

Blizzard cave in and decided to postpone the launch of Shadowlands following the feedback received after the beta. At the time of the announcement, Blizzard didn't say how much time it needs to fix all the issues, but Shadowlands was still bound to happen this year.

That being said, Blizzard recently confirmed that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will arrive on November 23 at 3 p.m. PST, while Europeans will be able to play the game starting November 24 at 12 a.m. CET.

We'd like to thank everyone across the WoW community who helped us get where we are today, including players leveling up new characters in the Shadowlands pre-patch (and keeping Azeroth's barbers extra busy), as well as all the beta testers who continue to provide us with invaluable feedback on the expansion,” said John Hight, Executive Producer of World of Warcraft, in a message posted on Twitter.

Apart from announcing the release of the next World of Warcraft expansion, Hight also revealed that the pre-launch event for Shadowlands will kick off November 10. Also, Blizzard set a December 8 date for the opening of the expansion's first raid – Castle Nathra, which takes players into the heart of Sire Denathrius' lair in Revendreth, along with the start of Shadowlands Season 1.

For this expansion, Blizzard prepared some sort of “battle season,” which offers players various rewards if they complete specific activities. On the negative side, the same battle season “gates” some of the loot you can obtain from Battlegrounds.

Although there are still issues with many aspects of the upcoming expansion, it looks like the problematic ones have been addressed and Blizzard is now ready to open the gates of the afterlife realm. We don't doubt that many players won't be able to log in the first few hours after the launch, but at least fans know when they should take a few days off.
