14 DAY TRIAL // Windows remains the operating system generating the most traffic on Pornhub, according to new 2019 statistics, as 75.5% of the clicks on the adult video sharing site come from devices powered by Microsoft’s platform.
macOS is the runner-up, as only 16.7% of the people watching porn on this site use a Mac, while in the case of Linux, the share drops to 2.1%.
When it comes to mobile, iPhone users seem to be enjoying adult stuff more than those on Android, as iOS accounts for 52.8% of the mobile traffic on Pornhub. This represents a growth of no less than 19% in just one year for iOS, while Android dropped 14% to 46.6%.
“A closer look revealed that much of this change had to do with geography. Android based devices are quite popular in India, so when India’s traffic decreased in 2019, it caused the share of Android devices to decrease,” the video sharing platform explains.
Probably on a related note, iPhones continues to be the preferred smartphone for teenagers in the United States.
Way too many people use IE to watch porn
The bad news for Microsoft is that despite Windows topping the charts when it comes to operating systems used for watching porn, not the same thing can be said about the native browser on Windows. Only 10.7% of the clicks on Pornhub are made with Microsoft Edge, while Google Chrome is the dominant leader with no less than 56.2%. Funny enough, Internet Explorer is still a top choice with 8.1%.
If you want to see the glass half-full, then Microsoft Edge usage on Pornhub increased by 9% in the last 12 months, which is rather surprising especially because Microsoft is now rebuilding its browser based on Chromium, thus giving up on the older version.
On mobile, Google Chrome dominates browsers used for watching porn, followed by Safari (thanks to the iPhone, of course) and Samsung Internet browser.
