9 of them are more challenging to remove, it seems

Microsoft has recently confirmed that Windows 11 build 22621 is the RTM version of the next major feature update for the operating system, but for the time being, nobody knows precisely when the rollout to production devices is supposed to start.

However, given the RTM build has already been picked, we can already get a taste of the upcoming update early.

The folks over at Deskmodder have conducted an analysis of the pre-installed apps in Windows 11 version 22H2 and discovered the operating system comes with no more, no less than 35 such apps.

In other words, when you install Windows 11 version 22H2 on your device, the operating system comes by default with 35 apps, except for Microsoft Edge, the language pack, and the C++ runtime environment.

However, removing most of them is quite easy. As the cited source notes, simply right-clicking the app’s icon in the Start menu and then selecting the option to uninstall these apps work for the majority of them.

Windows 11 version 22H2 likely coming in September

However, there are 9 apps that require additional steps before the complete removal, such as turning to PowerShell. The good news is they can still be removed, though the process might be a little bit too complex for beginners who expect a more straightforward way of removing them.

Windows 11 version 22H2 is a major feature update expected to launch in the second half of the year, possibly in September. Until then, Microsoft is going to focus exclusively on polishing the experience with the update, so the upcoming releases in the Windows Insider program, particularly in the Beta and RP channels, will come down to cumulative updates with additional refinements for this build.

The Dev channel is already being provided with builds that include changes that won’t be part of version 22H2.
