A new build of Windows 11 is now up for grabs

Microsoft has officially released Windows 11 build 22000.132 today, and just as expected, it comes with plenty of improvements for both Dev and Beta channel users.

But as far as users enrolled in the Beta ring of the Windows Insider program are concerned, the biggest change is the debut of Chats from Microsoft Teams on their devices.

In other words, this new feature is now available for Beta users as well, though you should keep in mind it only supports personal accounts for the time being. Work accounts still don’t work, so fingers crossed for this feature to make its way to Windows 11 rather sooner than later.

“Chat from Microsoft Teams is now available for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel. We’re also excited to begin rolling out one-to-one and group audio and video calling, with many of the features that you’ve come to expect. You can create and join meetings,” Microsoft announced today.

“You can toggle your microphone and camera on or off and choose your preferred speakers, mic, and camera with device settings. You can manage meeting information and options. You can share your screen, see the roster of participants, admit meeting participants from the lobby, chat and see people’s video in a gallery view. We’re excited to bring this experience to a growing network of people!”

The Beta builds

The Beta ring of the Windows Insider program is the best choice to stay up-to-date with everything happening on the Windows 11 front, as the Dev channel would be used to test experimental features that don’t necessarily have a specific ETA.

Windows 11 is projected to go live in October this year, and of course, Microsoft will continue to roll out new preview builds to make sure everything is working correctly before the big launch.
