Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 preview build that includes substantial improvements for the new Chat app powered by Microsoft Teams.

More specifically, the Redmond-based software giant has brought the Chat app to more languages out there, with the company explaining that users can enable it either with the OS language configured in the operating system or set up a different language in the client.

The new languages include Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Turkish, and more likely, Microsoft will soon bring the app to even more regions out there.

Microsoft introduced the Chat app in Windows 11 with much fanfare, with the company explaining that Teams users can now connect with their accounts straight from the OS taskbar.

“With Windows 11, we’re excited to introduce Chat from Microsoft Teams integrated in the taskbar. Now you can instantly connect through text, chat, voice or video with all of your personal contacts, anywhere, no matter the platform or device they’re on, across Windows, Android or iOS. If the person you’re connecting to on the other end hasn’t downloaded the Teams app, you can still connect with them via two-way SMS,” Microsoft said in the original Windows 11 announcement.

“Windows 11 also gives you a more natural way to connect with friends and family through Teams, allowing you to instantly mute and unmute, or start presenting directly from the taskbar.”

Windows 11 is already approaching the final development stages, with people close to the matter claiming the operating system could be signed off as soon as the next month. If everything goes according to the plan, then the first wave of production devices should get the operating system as a free upgrade in October, with the rollout to continue into 2022.
