14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is working on a new Windows 10 feature that will allow users to create their own quick actions in the Action Center.
At this point, Windows 10 comes with a limited set of quick actions that include shortcuts to enable and disable Focus Assist, the location tracking, access network options, or toggle airplane mode on and off.
But in a future OS update, Microsoft could enable custom quick actions that would be available via Microsoft Flow.
According to information found by Albacore and published on Twitter, each flow would come with its very own button, so basically, you could be able to create as many flows as you want.
Devs could create quick actions for their apps
Why is this important for Windows 10 users? It’s all because with custom quick actions, you can easily automate the work in Windows 10, especially when it comes to repetitive tasks that you run on a frequent basis.
Furthermore, if Microsoft unlocks this feature for developers as well, applications could come with their own quick actions, again providing users with easier control and faster access to certain tasks.
At this point, there are no specifics as to when this update could land, but Microsoft is reportedly paving the road for the quick actions improvements in the existing Windows 10 preview builds. In other words, there’s a chance that they may become available for insiders at some point in the near future in a preview build, though Microsoft could very well wait for the next OS update to make this happen.
Windows 10 19H1, currently in preview, is projected to go live for users in the spring of 2019. The next major update for Windows 10 is expected to be finalized in the fall of 2019, according to Microsoft’s very own release schedule.
