And it could be another bug Microsoft ignored

Microsoft has already confirmed that Windows 10 version 2004, or May 2020 Update, comes with a bunch of known issues, but at the same time, users also come across more problems every once in a while.

Most recently, for example, it’s been reported that this new OS feature update doesn’t place nice with Google Chrome, as users end up being logged out of the browser every time they start Windows.

In other words, once you log in to Windows, you also need to sign in to all websites with Google Chrome, as the update for some reason forces the browser to forget that you were authenticated on these websites.

In some cases, website passwords are also forgotten, some say, and the whole thing happens when restarting the computer, not when restarting the browser.

Known and ignored bug?

As Neowin reports, there’s a chance that this issue is related to another bug which has already been reported to Microsoft but which the company might have ignored.

Posts in the Windows 10 Feedback Hub report an issue that’s causing users to be “logged out everywhere after sleep or restart,” and by the looks of things, this affects not only Google Chrome, but pretty much any other app that’s installed on the device where a login was saved.

Microsoft has remained tight-lipped on all these reports, and the company only acknowledged a bunch of other issues, so it remains to be seen when a fix for this Google Chrome problem is resolved.

For what it’s worth, Google Chrome is currently the world’s number one desktop browser with a market share that’s close to 70 percent. Microsoft Edge is the runner-up with a little over 7 percent, and with Windows 10 currently the top desktop operating system, it’s very clear the company needs to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
