14 DAY TRIAL // Windows 10 Mobile is not here yet, but this doesn’t seem to stop Windows Phone users from at least giving it a try with the help of Insider builds.
New statistics provided by AdDuplex show that Windows 10 Mobile has actually posted an increase last month and although the growth is only minor, it shows that more users are tired of waiting and decide to see what the new OS is all about.
Specifically, Windows Phone 8.1 is now the top world in the Windows mobile OS world with 81.7 percent, followed by Window Phone 8.0 with 8.5 percent. Windows 10 Mobile is next with 5.3 percent, but up 0.8 percent from the previous month.
Top Windows Phone devices
As far as Windows Phone devices worldwide are concerned, Lumia 520 continues to be the top choice, but Lumia 535 is getting really close with 11.9 percent.
The third model in the charts is Lumia 630 with 8.5 percent, following by 635, 640, and 625. The new high-end models, such as Lumia 950 and 950 XL, are nowhere to be seen right now and it’s no wonder why: they’re still quite expensive given the fact that they come with top-notch hardware and support all Windows 10 Mobile features. Lumia 520, which is the most popular phone right now, was the most affordable model in Microsoft’s lineup.
Certainly, the whole uncertainty regarding Windows 10 Mobile is hurting the platform, but new information coming from Microsoft Mexico claims that the operating system could arrive for Windows Phone devices on February 29.
If this is true, we’re only a few days away from the moment when the upgrade would be released, so the figures we see here are very likely to change quickly. Windows 10 Mobile will definitely take over the leading spot in the charts in just a few months, as it’ll be offered free of charge to all Windows Phone devices, no matter their specs.
