“We still have a way to go before we're final”

After one month of no releases, Microsoft has finally pushed the button and provided Windows insiders with Windows 10 Mobile build 10152, which brings a number of changes not only in terms of features and optimizations but also as far as the branch it belongs to is concerned.

Build 10152 is part of branch TH2, which, according to insider information, is actually the one that Microsoft uses for the first major update for Windows 10 due in October.

Basically, the final version of Windows 10 is included in the TH1 branch, so seeing Windows 10 Mobile already pushed to TH2 was a little bit surprising, especially because there was no TH1 branch for the smartphone platform.

So it's no surprise that many believed that build 10512 was either a version that was very close to RTM or the RTM itself, but in a short statement on Twitter, Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has explained that Windows 10 Mobile is still very far from reaching the final stages of development and improvements are still needed.

“We still have a way to go with Mobile before we're final,” Aul has said.

More builds coming soon

What's more important to note is that Windows 10 Mobile is almost feature-complete, which means that Redmond has now switched focus to fixing bugs and improving performance.

Aul has also explained that many more Windows 10 Mobile builds will be released in the future, but no other details have been provided on ETA and the changes that the company could make in these versions.

What we know right now is that Microsoft Edge will soon get a bunch of tweaks and improvements, but once again, it's too early to talk about what exactly it will get and when this will happen.

In the meantime, keep in mind that build 10512 is only available for fast ring users and there's no mention of whether it could be released to the slow channel or not.
