Microsoft announced the Meet Now button for the Windows 10 taskbar a few weeks ago, but the company only released it to users across the world in stages.

The feature first went live for insiders, and then the software giant introduced it for productivity devices with the release of cumulative updates.

And now according to reports, the new Meet Now button is now live on all Windows 10 devices, thus making it easier for users to start a quick video call with someone online.

The best thing about the Meet Now button is that it allows video calls to be performed from the Windows 10 desktop without the need for an account. So despite being powered by Skype, you don’t have to log in or anything like that, as the conversation can be joined with just a direct link to the meeting.

Feature now available for everyone

“Earlier this year we introduced Meet Now in Skype. Meet Now makes it easy to connect with anyone in as little as two clicks for free and each call can last up to 24 hours. Today, we’re excited to share that we will be extending this capability in Windows 10 by bringing Meet Now right to the taskbar. In the coming weeks, you will be able to easily set up a video call and reach friends and family in an instant by clicking the Meet Now icon in the taskbar notification area. No sign ups or downloads needed,” Microsoft said last month.

Needless to say, the Meet Now button is quite a welcome change, especially because most people are forced to stay home due to obvious reasons.

So improving the way we make video calls and stay in touch with each other is a priority for Microsoft, and this new feature certainly comes in handy because the experience overall is super straightforward.
