Microsoft has recently published Windows 10 May 2019 Update images on MSDN, allowing subscribers to download the company’s latest OS feature update.

Several versions of the May update are thus available for download, including consumer and business editions, as well as a series of other add-ons like the Windows 10 Enterprise Windows Driver Kit, and the Windows 10 Hardware Lab Kit.

Microsoft hasn’t yet announced an official launch date for the May 2019 Update, but the company did say that its update is projected to land for consumers at the end of May.

Windows 10 version 1903 has already reached RTM, and the final build is currently part of the Release Preview ring of the Windows Insider program.

Microsoft says the update will stay in this ring for approximately one month before it receives the green light for the public rollout. In the meantime, the software giant will publish several cumulative updates that will help refine the performance and address the latest bugs before the official launch.

Coming to consumers next month

The rollout of the May update will take place in stages, just like it happened with the previous OS feature updates.

Microsoft says it’ll pay more attention to bug reports and use more advanced detection systems to prevent the update from being shipped to devices that could experience issues.

At the same time, users will also be provided with a manual download mode, including via Windows Update. Users manually checking for updates in Windows Update will thus be allowed to download the May update without waiting for the automatic rollout, albeit Microsoft will use a stage-based release in this case as well.

More details regarding the launch date of the May update for consumers should be shared in the coming weeks as we get closer to the moment Microsoft gives the final go-ahead.
