Microsoft is believed to be giving the finishing touches to Windows 10 19H2, the update that according to the company’s typical release schedule is supposed to launch in the fall.

While the software giant has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the release date of Windows 10 19H2, it’s likely the rollout would start soon, as Microsoft recently published Windows 10 version 1909 Build 18363.356 ESD on the Windows Server Update Services server (WSUS).

As WL notes, this isn’t the most recent version of Windows 10 19H2 shipped to Windows insiders, as the newest release is build 18363.387.

However, there’s a chance that Microsoft is currently conducting a series of tests to prepare for the debut of Windows 10 19H2, and this is the reason the ESD file was published on the servers.

Possible rollout next week

Meanwhile, the company still doesn’t provide any specifics on when it is supposed to begin the Windows 10 19H2 rollout.

Windows 10 19H2 introduces further polishing for the way feature updates are shipped to devices, and this release in particular would land as a cumulative update.

Given this new approach, there’s a chance that the rollout of Windows 10 19H2 starts on the next Patch Tuesday, which takes place on October 8. What will be interesting to see, however, is whether Microsoft will still use a gradual rollout, as it was the case of feature updates shipped in the past.

Meanwhile, it’s worth knowing that Windows 10 19H2 isn’t significant release in terms of new features, as Microsoft has focused mostly on refining things under the hood. This makes Windows 10 20H1, the feature update due in the spring of 2020, a highly-anticipated release, especially because the existing preview builds allowed testers to try out a series of major improvements in the Insider program.
