WhatsApp is getting better and better on both Android and iPhone, but this time, it’s the turn of Apple’s device to receive a series of goodies.

The most recent version of WhatsApp for iPhone therefore includes substantial refinements, and according to WABetaInfo, the Picture-in-Picture mode is the one that’s targeted.

While users can already watch YouTube and Instagram videos right in the WhatsApp conversation, the latest beta introduces a control bar that makes it easier to move the PiP view across the screen. Furthermore, users are getting shortcuts, so you can end the video even when it’s playing in full-screen mode.

Needless to say, this feature is currently available only as part of the beta program, and not everybody is getting it, especially as WhatsApp is testing it with a limited number of users.

Of course, there’s also no ETA as to when it could be released to production devices out there.

Encrypted backups

The Facebook-owned company is working around the clock on improving the app, and not a long time ago, WhatsApp announce encrypted backups on Android and iPhone.

“While end-to-end encrypted messages you send and receive are stored on your device, many people also want a way to back up their chats in case they lose their phone. Starting today, we are making available an extra, optional layer of security to protect backups stored on Google Drive or iCloud with end-to-end encryption. No other global messaging service at this scale provides this level of security for their users’ messages, media, voice messages, video calls, and chat backups,” WhatsApp said.

The backup encryption feature is already available in the latest version of the mobile application on both Android and iPhone, so just make sure your client is up-to-date to benefit from the latest improvements released by the company.
