It’s Patch Tuesday, and just like all the supported Windows versions still on the market, Windows 11 too is getting a batch of improvements as part of a new cumulative update.

This month, the Windows 11 cumulative update getting the go-ahead for production devices is KB5010386, and since it goes live on a Patch Tuesday, it’s first and foremost focused on security refinements.

However, the changelog doesn’t include more than a single change, with Microsoft pointing to the same improvement as for the rest of the cumulative updates aimed at Windows 10 devices.

“Addresses an issue that causes a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) modify operation to fail if the operation contains the SamAccountName and UserAccountControl attributes. The error message is, ‘Error: 0x20EF. The directory service encountered an unknown failure,’” the company says.

There are no known issues in this update.

Major update on its way to Windows 11

Microsoft is also getting ready to release an update that users will probably enjoy a lot more than this cumulative update. It’s the first major pack of improvements for Windows 11, and it will also include a public preview of Android app support on the desktop.

“Next month we’re bringing new experiences to Windows that include a public preview of how you can use Android apps on Windows 11 through the Microsoft Store and our partnerships with Amazon and Intel, taskbar improvements with call mute and unmute, easier window sharing and bringing weather to the taskbar, plus the introduction of two new redesigned apps, Notepad and Media Player,” Microsoft announced last month whet it confirmed the release of the first Windows 11 update.

At this point, there’s no still no ETA as to when Microsoft plans to release this update, but it’s believed the launch is just around the corner anyway.
