If your device has already been updated to Windows 10 version 1903, or May 2019 Update, you should check for updates right now because Microsoft has just released a new patch with lots of improvements.

The cumulative update in question is KB4507453, and it increases the OS build number to 18362.239.

It comes with four different changes, and the most important are the security patches that Microsoft uses to resolve vulnerabilities in Windows 10 and other built-in modules.

For example, KB4507453 resolves flaws in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge, the two browsers that are offered to Windows 10 users. Additionally, there are also patches for wireless technologies and Microsoft Office products, as per the official changelog that is also embedded below.

Cumulative update KB4507453 also includes a fix for an issue impacting the BitLocker encryption recovery mode. From the release notes provided by Microsoft:

“Addresses an issue that may cause BitLocker to go into recovery mode if BitLocker is being provisioned at the same time as updates are being installed.”

Three known issues this time

The software giant says it has also address visual quality problems experienced when using Windows Mixed Reality headsets with Steam VR content, but also other bugs encountered when connecting these devices.

There are three known issues in this cumulative update, two of which have also been acknowledged in the previous patches. These bugs break down Windows Sandbox and the Remote Access Connection Manager, with a third issue causing problems with accessibility features.

“After installing this update, opening or using the Window-Eyes screen reader app may result in an error and some features may not function as expected. Note Users who have already migrated from Window-Eyes to Freedom Scientific's other screen reader, JAWS, should not be affected by this issue,” Microsoft says.

A fix is currently in the works, Microsoft says, and an upcoming release should include it.
