14 DAY TRIAL // Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is the oldest Windows 10 version that still gets support for Home and Pro devices, and today it’s getting a new cumulative update with non-security improvements.
Windows 10 cumulative update KB4487021 is mostly about fixing bugs introduced by previous releases, and Japanese users should be glad to know that the majority of issues hitting their devices are now resolved.
For example, Microsoft has finally addressed a glitch that caused the clock and the calendar flyout to ignore user settings to Japanese era date and time formats. This problem was first acknowledged in cumulative update KB4469068, so it’s fixed now.
Also, Microsoft claims this release repairs a bug that broke down the first character of the Japanese era name in Microsoft Office Visual Basic for Applications.

No known issues
Windows 10 cumulative update KB4487021 increases the OS build number to 16299.1004, and this is a way to check whether it installed correctly or not. To do it, just click the Start menu and type winver. Compare the version number shown in this dialog with the one indicated above.
Somewhat surprising is that Microsoft hasn’t acknowledged any bugs in this new cumulative update, which means that it should install correctly and everything should work as expected for everyone.
At this point, there are no reports of failed installs, and this could be living proof that Microsoft has finally managed to refine the experience with cumulative updates in a way that makes the process of installing them more seamless.
