14 DAY TRIAL // One of the best weather apps for Windows Phone, 4castr has been updated with quite a few number of new features and improvements.
4castr already has a high rating on Windows Store, but with the latest update developers hope to make even more Windows Phone users take advantage of their apps.
First of all, developers confirmed they had added quiet hours for rain and government alerts (postpones notifications until a specified time), as well as moon phase data to current panel.
The latest version of 4castr comes with rain alerts, pressure hourly forecast graph, precipitation type announcements for rain alerts, recorded by voice actress Redd Horrocks, as well as new settings to change live tile radar zoom level.
The update also brings unsupported country warning prompts when a feature is not available in a user's country, but also “As of (time)” for when there are no government alerts in cached data.
Developers also stated that the latest version of 4castr features localization recruitment prompt for users speaking non-English languages.
The live tile timestamp size has been increased, while the apps size has been reduced by converting custom sounds to MP3 from WAV.
Improvements and bug fixes have been added too
The default live tile radar zoom level has been changed and the toast notification custom sounds have been simplified to reduce confusion. Error messages for upcoming localization have been simplified as well.
Apart from the new features mentioned above, the newest update also improves some things, such as data processing time, background agent stability and background agent abortion notifications.
Last but not least, developers announced that they have fixed over three dozen individual bugs, some of them reported by users.
You can now download 4castr for Windows Phone for free via Windows Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
