If someone would have told us 10 years ago that we will soon be unable to keep track of the number of Warhammer-themed PC games, we would have probably laughed in their face. Well, it looks like Games Workshop went berserk and started to offer the Warhammer franchise to just about any developer that would pay for it.

Most of the Warhammer games release in the last few years are mediocre, to say the least, but that are clearly some great ones like the Total Warhammer series developed by Creative Assembly. Today, we're bringing you news about another Warhammer-themed game that could potentially be very interesting for fans of the franchise.

Publisher Slitherine (Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War, Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach and Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon) and developer Black Lab Games (Battlestar Galactica Deadlock and Starhammer) have just revealed Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, a new turn-based strategy game set in the world-renowned sci-fi setting imagined by Games Workshop.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector takes players to the battlefields of the 41st Millenium where they must pick their force, develop their army, field mighty heroes, and fight for victory using superior strategy, awesome abilities, and devastating weaponry, turn by turn on grid-based maps.

The upcoming game features a twenty mission single-player campaign that explores the aftermath of the Devastation of Baal. Players must help Sergeant Carleon and his allies purge the Tyranid infestation on Baal Secundus and preserve the honor of the noble Blood Angels.

Apart from the single-player campaign, Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector lets players fight across the surface of Baal on maps of their choosing and select either the Blood Angels or the Tyranids in the Skirmish mode. Also, live and asynchronous multiplayer, as well as hotseat modes will be available too (PC only).

Slitherine revealed that Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector will be released on PC in May 2021, but a console version will be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this summer. Make sure to wishlist the game on Steam if you plan on picking this one up on PC.
