Vivo is a company that’s investing more and more in smartwatches, and after launching its first smartwatch with 18-day battery life per charge, it’s now back with an improved model featuring more advanced capabilities.

The Vivo Watch 2, which has been unveiled in China this week, promises one full week of battery per each charge, so in theory, it’s a downgrade from the previous model.

But when looking at the spec sheet, it’s pretty clear it’s a trade-off nobody would mind accepting.

First and foremost, the device sports a 1.43-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 466x466 pixels and touch input. The company has tried to make the smartwatch as light as possible, so it tips the scales at just 47 grams.

Going on sale next week

The device packs 2GB of built-in storage for things like music, as well as NFC support for payments, a GPS sensor, heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, and sleep analysis. It supports no less than 47 sports activities, including the typical running and swimming.

And speaking of swimming, the Vivo promises up to 5 ATM water resistance, so you can safely take a shower when wearing the new smartwatch because it totally shouldn’t break.

One of the best things about the smartwatch is that it integrates eSIM support, so you can use the built-in microphone and speaker to make and receive phone calls. This means the smartwatch can work independently from the phone, and if you work out regularly, you certainly know how important this is.

Unfortunately, the Vivo Watch 2 is currently available exclusively in China. The device is still in the pre-order phase, as the shipping is projected to start on December 9 in Vivo’s domestic market. The pricing will take many by surprise, as you can buy the new Vivo Watch for no more, no less than $200.
