14 DAY TRIAL // Vivaldi has just released a new version of its Android browser, and the most notable improvement this time is the release of a dark web mode.
As you probably know already if you’re used Vivaldi on mobile before, the previous version already shipped with light and dark modes.
But beginning with today’s update, Vivaldi for Android now supports a dark mode for web content, thus turning everything black when browsing the web. As with everything Vivaldi, users are the ones who can decide how they want the browsing to work, so there are customizable settings in the Themes section of Vivaldi Settings.
The new dark web mode join a growing list of features that includes the signature tab strip, which makes it possible to work with multiple tabs and switch between them easily, a user-friendly tab switcher, built-in ad and tracker blocker, integrated notes, speed dials, a bookmark manager, and search engine nicknames.
Improved screen estate
Vivaldi is also focused on improving the available screen estate when browsing the web, so it comes with several options in this regard, including a landscape mode.
“Vivaldi’s optimization of screen space is noteworthy. In landscape mode, Vivaldi looks very different from portrait mode. It comes with greater width with the toolbar removed and buttons placed at the top – enhancing usability. In landscape mode, browsing with the option “Always Show Desktop Site” works well,” the dev team explains.
“The browser doesn’t want you to waste space, especially on small screens. With an option to disable the System Status Bar in Vivaldi Settings, you can view content better in a bigger browser window. And not seeing unread messages and notifications helps you focus.”
