And according to a recent report, one surprise appearance could be an updated version of the Surface Headphones, though this time, the whole thing comes with both good news and bad news.
First and foremost, the new model will be called Microsoft Surface Headphones 2+, and if you’ve been keeping an eye on Microsoft’s hardware announcements lately, you probably figured out the purpose of this product already.
Just like the Surface Pro 7+, which was announced recently as a hardware refresh to the Surface Pro 7, the new headphones would be specifically aimed at commercial customers, so in theory, they wouldn’t be available for consumers.

And as it turns out, Microsoft wants to refine the commercial aim of the headphones with one big change: the new model would be certified for Microsoft Teams, and to achieve this, the company would give up on Bluetooth connectivity and instead go for a USB dongle that allows the headphones to connect to a PC wirelessly.
On the other hand, the new headphones would be very similar to the model already available on the market, so don’t expect any other hardware improvements or design changes.
At the first glance, Microsoft’s goal is as simple as it could be: the company wants to position the Surface Headphones as ready for the enterprise, so they would become the first step for commercial customers, especially if they’re looking for a Microsoft Teams certified product.
