UK-based video games publisher Feral Interactive announced today that it plans to port the popular Tropico construction and management simulation video game to Apple's iPad later this year.

Developed by PopTop Software and published by Gathering of Developers, Tropico is an adorable construction and management simulation video game for Microsoft's Windows and Apple's macOS operating system.

Kalypso’s acclaimed series has numerous expansion packs, sequels, and editions, including but not limited to Tropico: Paradise Island, Tropico: Mucho Macho Edition, Tropico 2: Pirate Cove, Tropico 3, Tropico 4, Tropico 5, Tropico 6, as well as Tropico Reloaded.

Later this year, you will be able to play the video game on Apple's iPad tablet for the first time, which is powered by the iOS mobile operating system. As expected, the game will allow users to build their own power trip in a tropical environment.

Available later this year

Feral Interactive said earlier on Twitter that Tropico for iOS will run only on the iPad and, will be available sometime later this year. The games published promises that, just like all of their iOS games, Tropico for iPad will be a premium pay-once game at a fair price.

Unfortunately, Feral Interactive did not offer any other details about the game, such as on which iPad models will be supported, or how much it'll cost or what are the system requirements. Of course, it would be wonderful if Tropico for iOS will run even on the 1st generation iPad Mini and iPad Air.

Until the game is available for purchase from the App Store on Apple's iPad, you can check out the teaser trailer below to see it in action. Keep an eye on our news feed over the coming months for the official release of Tropico for iPad when more details will be unveiled.
