The full-scale reimagining of the award-winning winning Skyrim mod of the same name, which has been downloaded more than 3 million times, The Forgotten City will be coming to even more platforms this year, developer Modern Storyteller revealed today.

Previously announced for PC and Xbox One, The Forgotten City has been confirmed to arrive on additional gaming platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.

Having The Forgotten City on next-gen consoles is an absolute dream. It’s the story we always wanted to tell: an engrossing, poignant mystery that players can enjoy again, and again, and again,” said Nick Pearce, founder of Modern Storyteller.

The Forgotten City traps players in a secret underground city in the time of the Roman Empire, where twenty-three lost souls cling to life. In this mysterious utopia, if one person breaks the Golden Rule, everyone dies. Players step into the shoes of a time-traveler drawn two thousand years into the past.

They will relieve their final moments in an endless loop, exploring and interrogating, and changing the course of the day with each secret they uncover. In The Forgotten City, players will explore an authentic, open-world ancient Roman city brought to life with Unreal Engine.

Also, developers promise richly detailed and deeply interactive characters. Throughout the game, you'll be grappling with moral dilemmas which have life-and-death consequences, while investigating a gripping, non-linear mystery with multiple endings.

More importantly, you'll be able to role-play as whoever you want, choosing your own gender, origin and backstory. The game lets players solve problems their own way, with reason, charm, bribery, stealth, intimidation, or by cleverly exploiting the time-loop.

The Forgotten City doesn't have a release date yet, but we do know it will come out this year on the PC and Xbox One. Here is hoping the next-generation version will arrive sooner rather than later.
