Smartwatches that provide the main benefits of smartphones are the next big thing in the wearable industry, and as one of the companies investing aggressively in this market, Mobvoi is also one of the first bringing LTE-capable devices to customers worldwide.

This week, it’s the turn of buyers in the United Kingdom to get the TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE, which can work without the need for a smartphone thanks to Vodafone UK.

The device can be used for calls, messages, and data via Vodafone OneNumber, and it also comes with a set of extra gimmicks like cloud synchronization.

Based on the original TicWatch Pro, whose battery life could reach 30 days according to official estimates, the new LTE model is also available in the United States with a preloaded SIM. The version sold in the UK, however, comes with an embedded SIM.

Swimming mode also supported

The full feature package developed by Mobvoi is offered on this upgraded watch as well, including the Tic suite of apps, such as TicPulse, TicMotion 2.0, and TicSleep. The device also supports swimming with a dedicated mode, as it achieves an IP68 waterproof rating.

In the United Kingdom, the device is available for £249.99 with included access to the Vodafone UK network.

One of the highlights of the TicWatch Pro, both the original model and this LTE-capable sibling, is the Dual Display technology, which helps further increase battery life with a so-called Essential Mode.

“With Dual Display technology, Mobvoi’s trademark “Essential Mode,” first introduced in the TicWatch Pro, uses layered display technology that layers a low power consuming LCD display on top of a brilliant OLED display, so that users can switch from Smart Mode to a power-saving Essential Mode that extends the battery life from 2 days to up to 30 days,” Mobvoi explains.
