Someone has created a UI redesign of the Weather app

The Weather app is one of the most popular items that come pre-loaded in Windows 10, or at least, much more popular than others, so it goes without saying that Microsoft should try to keep it fresh and release occasional updates to improve its functionality.

The Weather app, however, has barely received any polishing lately, and this convinced some of the skilled designers out there to come up with their own proposals regarding a potential visual facelift for the app.

This is the case of the concept that we have here and which was shared on Twitter by @TaoGeJT.

Essentially an overhaul of the Weather app, the concept comes with both light and dark themes and imagines an UI that provides more information in the main screen, without users having to browse to other menus to access the data.

More info right in the main screen

For example, the main UI now shares the current weather conditions for all configured locations – you can set up more than one city to view the current temperature and get all the data right in the main screen.

Furthermore, a detailed forecast for the selected location is displayed right below, while info like map and history is available under dedicated sections that you can browse from the top menu.

The concept looks cool, there’s no doubt about that, but some might find it a little bit too cluttered, especially because so much info is displayed in one screen. Most likely, it’d be just a matter of time until everybody gets used to it should such a design go live in the Weather app.

But of course, you’d better not hold your breath for anything like this to be released soon, especially as no major Windows 10 update (both for the apps and the OS itself) is expected until this time next year
