14 DAY TRIAL // The next Windows 10 feature update is projected to go live as soon as this month, though it’ll land in the form of a minor pack of improvements with the focus on under the hood refinements.
Windows 10 version 21H1 will therefore introduce rather subtle changes, with Microsoft to roll out a massive operating system overhaul in the fall as part of the update currently referred to as version 21H2.
At that point, Microsoft is expected to release the first part of its Windows 10 visual facelift called Sun Valley and supposed to include massive improvements for every little operating system component, including the Start menu.
A concept published by Twitter user vGLAD, whose impressive work I previously highlighted on several occasions, envisions the Sun Valley treatment in Windows 10, including the new Start menu that comes with an approach that will probably blow your mind.
Floating flyouts
The proposed Start menu is no longer part of the taskbar, as it’s fully undocked, something that Microsoft is believed to be interesting in for the upcoming update. And what’s more, the Start menu now uses Acrylic only for the sidebar, therefore obtaining a look that looks a lot more modern overhaul.
The concept also envisions a visual refresh of other Windows 10 elements, and all use this floating approach, thus transforming the operating system into a completely different platform from the one we currently know and use.
But of course, you’d better not hold your breath for Windows 10 to look exactly like in the concept we have here because Microsoft could end up going for a more subtle visual refresh at the end of the day. However, the concept once again shows that Windows 10 deserves a more modern treatment, and Microsoft should really deliver it in the upcoming 21H2 feature update.
