The Samsung Galaxy S10 is the next big launch in the mobile business, and the closer we get to its debut, the more information on the device make the rounds.

Today, we receive an early glimpse into what the Galaxy S10 could look like when getting the go-ahead in early 2019, all thanks to drawings that Samsung has included in a patent it received lately.

Discovered by Let’s Go Digital, the patent proposes several design ideas for the Galaxy S10, out of which several have already made the rounds lately, more or less confirming that there’s indeed a chance the phone may look like this.

What’s interesting to note is that in all drawings, the front-facing camera is placed in the top left corner, just like it was rumored earlier this month.

Camera embedded into the screen

It’s believed the Samsung Galaxy S10 could use Infinity O displays, which allow the South Korean firm to drill holes into the screen and thus embed the front-facing camera into the glass. While it was originally speculated that the camera would be centered, this idea with the unit placed in the top left corner gains more traction now, and today’s patent shows this is very likely to come to fruition.

Another highlight that seems to be confirmed by these drawings is that Samsung is planning both flat and curved panels for the upcoming Galaxy S10.

While the base level would feature a screen with no curved edges, this won’t be the case of its premium siblings, which may stick with an approach a la Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9. The fingerprint sensor will be moved from the back to the side of the phone and won’t be embedded into the screen, as originally reported.

The debut of the Galaxy S10 could take place in the first months of 2019, with people familiar with the matter indicating this could happen either in late January or in early February.
