And you can download it as an MP3 file right now

Surface Duo is Microsoft’s ambitious device supposed to bring the company back to the mobile world, but unsurprisingly, it’s not just a phone, but a dual-screen model that can double as a computer.

Announced in October 2019, Surface Duo is projected to go live in the holiday season later this year. And while you can’t yet purchase a Surface Duo, at least you can make people around you believe you already have one.

The official Surface Duo ringtone is now available from download from the USPTO website – that’s right, the download link is posted on the United States Patent and Trademark Office page, and there’s a good reason for this.

Microsoft has filed a patent for the Surface Duo ringtone, so technically, nobody can copy it and use the same sound on their devices.

The default ringtone?

Of course, there’s a chance this won’t be the only ringtone on the Surface Duo, but given the software giant filed for a patent, it’s likely to be the default phone that the device comes fitted with by default.

Surface Duo is without a doubt an exciting device, despite running Android. Back in October, Microsoft also announced Windows 10X, an operating system whose purpose is to power dual-screen and foldable devices. In other words, Windows 10X is specifically aimed at devices just like the Surface Duo, but for some reason, Microsoft just picked Android for this model.

The company hasn’t shared any pricing info about the Surface Duo, but of course, we really shouldn’t expect it to come cheap. Not only that it’s part of the Surface lineup, which has always sold for a premium, but the Surface Duo is also a dual-screen model packing lots of technology, so I wouldn’t really be surprised if it costs more than $1,500 or even $2,000 when it launches later this year.
