Concept imagines different modern version of the Start menu

Microsoft is believed to be working on a bunch of refinements for the Windows 10 Start menu, and the company itself teases this small update from time to time.

More recently, the company published what appear to screenshots with its refined Start menu on Facebook, once again without any ETA as to when we could get our hands on it.

For the time being, however, all these teasers appear to suggest that we’re in for just a minor makeover of the Start menu, and if anything, we might get refreshed icons and small changes to the live tiles.

But a concept published on Twitter by vGLAD pushes things even further, imagining an even more modern version of the Start menu.

Modern design indeed

While I won’t talk too much about what the eyes can see, worth highlighting is the new live tile design, which seems to blend in the Start menu look much more seamlessly. And without a doubt, this Windows 10X-inspired Start menu would really benefit from the new icon pack that Microsoft has recently debuted, so overall, it’s one modern piece of technology that Windows 10 deserves.

Microsoft, on the other hand, still remains tight-lipped on this refreshed version of the Start menu. And while the first teaser was published months ago, nobody knows for sure when it could go live for users.

The next Windows 10 feature update is due in the fall as version 20H2, while the next big release is scheduled to happen in the spring of 2021.

For the time being, however, no such change is happening in the preview builds of Windows 10 in the Windows Insider Program, so only Microsoft is the one who knows when the updated Start menu is supposed to land for users in a stable build of the OS.
