After getting a bunch of renders from very reliable sources and presenting the new iPhone 9 from various angles, someone has created a concept imagining the new model, highlighting a clean design that looks absolutely delicious.
The iPhone 9 itself is likely to be very similar in terms of design with the iPhone 8, the model whose body and dimensions it’ll most likely borrow. iPhone 9 could thus come with a 4.7-inch LCD panel and lack Face ID and a notch simply because it’d use a front-facing home button with integrated Touch ID.
In other words, yes, iPhone 9 will come with a built-in fingerprint sensor, and no, it won’t sport facial recognition.
The rumored launch date
Now the bigger question is when is the iPhone 9 supposed to launch?
People familiar with the matter previously said the device was supposed to launch in March, but due to the coronavirus outbreak and the suspended operations that many suppliers announced in February, it’s now believed that a delay is very likely. Some analysts believe the iPhone 9 launch could be pushed back by several months, which technically means that the device could see daylight alongside the new-generation models in September.
iPhone 9 is likely to hit the shelve with a $399 price tag, so it’d be the most affordable iPhone in the entire lineup. If this happens, there’s a good chance it convinces many owners of old iPhones to upgrade, which is exactly what Apple is aiming for with this new-generation iPhone SE.
