Apple is projected to launch three different iPhone models later this year, and while we already heard plenty of specifics regarding the upcoming device lineup, no photo leak happened so far.

But a photo published by Twitter user @laobaiTD claims to show a 6.1-inch iPhone panel, which based on the information we already have, could be the more affordable model to launch alongside an iPhone X successor and a Plus-sized iPhone X.

Before anything, it’s very important to note that this leak could very well be fake, and right now, it’s pretty impossible to determine whether it’s accurate or not.

The leak

There are several details that do not align with the information we already have. For example, it was originally believed that the more affordable iPhone would come with an LCD display and not be branded as an iPhone X model, but today’s leak claims otherwise.

The alleged leakster indicates this is the “iPhone X” display, further adding that it’s an OLED panel. More reliable sources previously said that Apple would launch two different OLED iPhone models, one of which would land as a direct successor the iPhone X, while the other would be the bigger Plus-branded version. These devices would use 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED panels, respectively.

In order to launch a low-cost iPhone, Apple is expected to remove several key features from the LCD model, including the dual-camera system and the glass body. This means wireless charging is unlikely to be offered, and people close to the matter said 3D Touch could also be scrapped as well.

On the other hand, just like the rest of the iPhones, this more affordable configuration could come with Face ID facial recognition system, thus featuring a notch and an edge-to-edge design approach. It could cost somewhere around $699, though there were signs that it could get even cheaper.
