Survey shows iPhone owners dream about major improvements

A new iPhone generation is just around the corner, and while most of the upgrades have already been disclosed by leaks, many existing users still hope for a miracle.

In other words, they still pray that Apple would go a step further and bring more substantial improvements to its devices.

At the top of their requirements is none other than a bigger battery, as revealed by a survey conducted by USA Today and SurveyMonkey. No less than 75 percent of the 1,665 adults participating in the research said they want the iPhone to offer longer battery life.

As the aforementioned leaks have suggested, major battery upgrades are unlikely for the 2018 iPhone generation, so there’s a good chance that Apple won’t go in this direction just yet.

Features Apple won’t be adding anytime soon

Then, 66 percent of the users said the iPhone should have a shatter-proof glass screen. Apple has already made some improvements in this regard, but as we all know by now, new-generation iPhones are made of glass, and glass tends to break into pieces when dropped to the ground.

In third place, there’s expandable storage with 44 percent, and once again, this isn’t going to happen. What will happen instead, however, is Apple adding a 512GB version to the iPhone lineup.

Somewhat surprising is that only 10 percent of the respondents said they’d like the notch to go away, while 29 percent claimed the Lightning port should be replaced with USB-C. 19 percent of the users criticized Face ID, which they think is still unreliable, while 18 percent called for a faster refresh rate for apps.

Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup will include a trio of models, namely a successor to the iPhone X, a Plus-sized version, and a cheaper configuration coming with a 6.1-inch LCD screen. All will be unveiled next week during a press conference which is also likely to witness the debut of the Apple Watch Series 4.
