Unique configuration available at Costco in the US

Microsoft launched the Surface Go with much fanfare earlier this month as the company’s smallest, lightest, and most affordable Surface ever.

The device is sold in two different configurations, both with the same Intel Pentium 4415Y processor, but with either 4GB RAM and 64GB storage or 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, respectively.

There’s no third model in between these two Surface Go versions, so you need to device whichever of the two fits you best.

But if for some reason you think that you need 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD storage, here’s the good news. A third model with this configuration is also up for grabs, not from Microsoft but from Costco, which is selling it right now to its US customers.

While it wasn’t announced officially, it looks like the device comes with excellent value for the money because it also includes a bunch of accessories that help you save some extra bucks.

Shipping on August 2

Costco sells it as a bundle with a black Signature Type Cover and it costs $549. Microsoft’s prices for the two Surface Go configurations mentioned above are $399 and $549, but the Type Cover is sold separately.

Just like it’s the case with the versions sold by Microsoft, the Surface Go isn’t yet available at Costco, but you can place a pre-order and receive it when it starts shipping on August 2.

Neither Microsoft nor Costco released an announcement regarding this special edition Surface Go bundle, and it’ll be interesting to find out whether it’s just a mistake or the retailer indeed sells such a configuration.

Microsoft’s Surface Go can also be purchased with a small discount from the Microsoft Store, both online and in retail locations, by eligible schools and students. The Surface Go is primarily aimed at the education sector, so such a price cut without a doubt makes sense.
